Description
STAND (Students Taking Action Now: Darfur) would like to welcome UVA students and members of the Charlottesville community to gather for an interfaith vigil for Darfur . The vigil seeks to remember those who have lost their lives in the genocide by coming together as a hopeful community to pray for an end to the tragedy in Darfur.
Speakers from all different faiths - Hindu, Christian, Muslim, Baha'i, Jewish, Sikh, Bhakti - will unite to share their encouragement and prayers for Darfur African Drum and Dance Ensemble will perform as well!
We will also be collecting donations for Doctors Without Borders'efforts in Darfur/Chad to continue efforts for peace, and will have petitions to sign.
