Description

This event is a reception in honor of the photo exhibit which originated at Sweet Briar College and was curated by Dr. Lynn Rainville. It is on display at Kaleidoscope from now through mid-May and features rare photographs of Virginia Indian families and individuals from 1899-1930. The exhibit is a partnership project with the Virginia Indian Heritage Program through the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities. At the reception, several Virginia Indian tribal leaders will speak on the importance of these photos to our history - our sense of who our people were and who we are today. Native foods will be served at this event. See the event web page for additional information.
